Why do I Have my Travel Pillow with Me All the Time?
I found my solace and best comfort with my best travel companion, my neck travel pillow that I accidentally found in amazon. With my small stature at 4 feet and 11 inches, it is impossible for me to reach the seat headrest which makes travel pillows my lifesavers by giving me full head support and all the cushion I need. I just rest my face on either side of the pillow or lean back and I'm all set for a good and relaxing sleep, even when I'm away from the comforts of my home. They can even prevent stiff necks, snoring and sleep apnea.
Also, traveling could be really exhausting. I'm sure everyone will agree with me on this. This is even more reason that you should maximize your rest when you get the chance. There's something comforting and relaxing about having your own, hygienic and personal foam travel pillow. I don't travel without it anymore. Try it for yourself.
Here are some tips that might be helpful in selecting your own perfect travel pillow:
1. Choose the Type of Pillow you Want to Have.
There are different types of pillows in the market today. It could be inflatable, microbeads or memory foam. Although memory foam pillows are considered the most expensive, they could be the firmest and offer the most consistent support for the neck as they could mold to your neck's shape. This, for me, makes them simply the best.
2. Consider the Fabric.
You need to choose a fabric that you'll be comfortable even on hot or cold weather. Fleece type is best for cold climates or flights; while cotton and smooth plastic are ideal for hot climates. Some types of fabric could also trigger allergic reactions specially to people with sensitive skin; so you need to have that in mind as well.
3. Check on the Size and Weight.
Memory foam pillows are usually of the lightweight type and easy to carry. Since the purpose of these pillows is to make your life easier, it is important to choose the one which fits your travelling style or needs. If you wanted the microbeads type, you need to have a large space to store it as they could be bulky.
4. Invest on Durability.
If you're a frequent traveler, it's important to decide on how much you're willing to pay for comfort and durability. Though you have to choose wisely as a higher price may not always mean durability. Read reviews online to know which brands last long and those who give the finest comfort so you can have idea on what to buy.
5. It Should give the Best Neck Support.
A good travel neck pillow will fully support the head, neck and the sides starting at ear level. Rest your head to the side, if your head falls, you are not supported. If your head remains steady, then you've got your money's worth and yourself the best deal.
